Winter Thrushes at Besthorpe

We weren’t quite sure what to make of the weather this morning so decided to stay fairly close to home and drive up to Besthorpe, Lincolnshire. The potholes in the country lane were massive and filled with water, there were showers and grey skies … but, in between, there were flashes of sunshine and all the winter thrushes were there in vast numbers. I didn’t get as many pictures as I would have liked, (the fieldfares stayed too far away), but thoroughly enjoyed watching the birds we did see at close quarters.

From the top: Blackbird, Redwing, Song Thrush.
