The Cheat and Carmelita – strange bedfellows, but they represent numbers 40 and 41 in my EFIAP/b quest. Unusually for me, The Cheat has not been processed with textures but is a straight shot from a fisheye lens. Carmelita has had a minimal ‘touch-up’ but probably still represents a fairly straight-forward shot.

Well, it’s been quite a good couple of weeks for me. I finally achieved my BPE5* and was notified that I had been successful in achieving my EFIAP/bronze. (explanations of acronyms here). So, I’m off on my journey towards EFIAP/silver, and these are the first acceptances along the way. They went to the UPSA Exhibition in California as Monochrome prints and all four were accepted. Only three count towards the silver, as Crowning Glory is an older picture, but I’m up and running (well, crawling really). I have yet to make up my mind whether to pursue any further accreditation with the BPE.
From top left, clockwise: Behind the Mask (which won a Ribbon), Stoned, The Neck Corset, Crowning Glory.

18 acceptances from the 5th Greek Photographic Circuit, with The Sorceress continuing its run of awards with a Diploma 3; three new images got their first acceptances – The Seventh Veil, Great Heron Taking Off and Male Bearded Tit; and four fairly recent images also did well – Study in Red, Trinity, Medusa and Regrets. Happy with that, as they say.

I had 39 acceptances in the 3rd Queensland International Digital Circuit, over 14 pictures, including two awards. Five of the photographs were first-time acceptances into FIAP, which means I now have all the qualifications to apply for my EFIAP/bronze at the end of the year. The new pictures (clockwise from top left) : Only Make Believe, Green Hairstreak, Fag Ash Lil, Lady of the Rock and Crossing the Finishing Line.

The Great British Small Print Circuit is what it says it is … photographers enter printed photographs no larger than A4 into a circuit of three Salons and then sit back and wait with bated breath to see if they have had any accepted for exhibition … or, even better, if any have achieved an award. This year I had 16 acceptances over the three Salons and three awards – an Honourable Mention and a Judge’s Award for Ill met by Moonlight, and a Circuit Award for Crowning Glory. I also had a new picture accepted, Long Tailed Tit, which is another small step closer to EFIAP/bronze.

My six acceptances from the Hoylake International Salon included three new pictures, which means I now have 40 of the required criterion to qualify for EFIAP/bronze. With just over six months to go before applications open, I am quietly confident of achieving the magic figure. Reading clockwise from top left, they are: Leap in the Dark (new), Ticket to Ride, Shadowplay (new), Brown Hare, Lady of the Mist (new) and Untouched by Time (Honorable Mention).
