New Acceptances for EFIAP/s

With a couple of months to go, I now have 38 of 50 pictures required to qualify for my EFIAP/s. I already have the obligatory 100 acceptances, so just the dirty dozen to find between now and Christmas.
From top left, clockwise: The Cheaters, Private Dancer, Hair Raiser, Beginners Please, The Girl in the Blue Scarf, Robin Redbreast in Song, Menace, Vintage Pin Up.
Thanks to models Martyn, Hannah, Mason, Rachelle and Ellie Mae.
And a big thank you, as usual, to Studio 3 by Severn.

On the Road to Silver

Well, it’s been quite a good couple of weeks for me. I finally achieved my BPE5* and was notified that I had been successful in achieving my EFIAP/bronze. (explanations of acronyms here). So, I’m off on my journey towards EFIAP/silver, and these are the first acceptances along the way. They went to the UPSA Exhibition in California as Monochrome prints and all four were accepted. Only three count towards the silver, as Crowning Glory is an older picture, but I’m up and running (well, crawling really). I have yet to make up my mind whether to pursue any further accreditation with the BPE.

None Shall Pass

I’m presently getting a bank of new pictures ready for when I can begin competing for my EFIAP Silver level. None Shall Pass has been created from a studio shot of a brilliant young model, Emily, and a background from Southwell Workhouse. It was a productive day in the studio and there are, hopefully, a few more images in the pipeline.None Shall Pass

Rushden BPE Salon

Five pictures accepted into the Rushden Salon – clockwise from top left – Split Personality (Highly Commended), The Sorceress, Into the Light, Black Tailed Godwits and Behind the Mask.

Ellie Mae

Today, I’m practising split-toning. This one is done in Lightroom, with quite a light touch (a new discipline for me!). It hasn’t had any sharpening applied, which, I think, keeps it on the ethereal side.

Tonight was the final leg of our yearly competition. The Neck Corset scored 20/20 in the monochrome print section and I was placed first overall in the year. Split Personality scored 20/20 in the colour print section and I was placed third overall in the year.  Into the Light scored 20/20 in the digital monochrome section and I was placed first equal overall in the year.
